WSU Tech’s Culinary Arts program is based on maximizing lab contact hours, with expanded options, providing real-world experience in an urban location within the framework of innovation, sustainability, and accessibility.

REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE

Our Culinary Arts track is designed to meet the needs of students with little to no industry experience and to prepare them for entry-level and secondary food service positions with the potential for expedited promotion.

In coordination with WSU’s Barton School of Business, course frameworks for Culinary Management and Food Business Management are also being created. These additional tracks will allow students to go beyond line positions into positions of leadership in any area of the expansive and expanding food service industry.

INNOVATION

Culinary graduates will gain skills in menu development and product development.

EXPLORE OUR PROGRAMS

In partnership with Envision, NICHE includes a first-of-its-kind innovation kitchen designed to meet the career goals of people who are blind or visually impaired (BVI).

Envision BVI Innovation Kitchen

Within the blind community, there is limited training related to basic kitchen skills and nutrition; this partnership aims to set the new standard for post-secondary BVI culinary arts education.

As part of the new WSU Tech National Institute for Culinary and Hospitality Education, the program offers courses that teach BVI students how to plan and prepare meals and operate kitchen equipment.
